چکیده

Let Hk(W, q) be the Iwahori–Hecke algebra associated with a finite Weyl group W , where k is a field and 0 6= q ∈ k. Assume that the characteristic of k is not “bad” for W and let e be the smallest i > 2 such that 1+q+q+· · ·+q = 0. We show that the number of simple Hk(H, q)-modules is “generic”, i.e., it only depends on e. The proof uses some computations in the CHEVIE package of GAP and known results due to Dipper–James, Ariki–Mathas, Rouquier and the author.

On the Representation Theory of Iwahori–hecke Algebras of Extended Finite Weyl Groups

We apply Lusztig’s theory of cells and asymptotic algebras to the Iwahori–Hecke algebra of a finite Weyl group extended by a group of graph automorphisms. This yields general results about splitting fields (extending earlier results by Digne–Michel) and decomposition matrices (generalizing earlier results by the author). Our main application is to establish an explicit formula for the number of...

Centers and Simple Modules for Iwahori-hecke Algebras

The work of Dipper and James on Iwahori-Hecke algebras associated with the finite Weyl groups of type An has shown that these algebras behave in many ways like group algebras of finite groups. Moreover, there are “generic” features in the modular representation theory of these algebras which, at present, can only be verified in examples by explicit computations. This paper arose from an attempt...

Schur-Weyl reciprocity between the quantum superalgebra and the Iwahori-Hecke algebra

In the representation theory, the classification and the construction of the irreducible representations are essential themes. In the first half of the twentieth century, I. Schur[11] introduced a prominent method to obtain the finite dimensional irreducible representations of the general linear group GL(n,C), or equivalently of its Lie algebra gl(n,C), which we call Schur-Weyl reciprocity at p...

Filtrations on Projective Modules for Iwahori–hecke Algebras

We consider a generic Iwahori–Hecke algebra HO associated with a finite Weyl group, defined over a suitable discrete valuation ring O. We define filtrations on HO-modules in terms of Lusztig’s afunction. For a projective module, we show that the quotients of this filtration are direct sums of irreducible lattices. As an application, we prove refinements of the results on decomposition numbers o...

2 Hecke Algebras with Unequal Parameters

These notes are an expanded version of the Aisenstadt lectures given at the CRM, Université de Montréal, in May/June 2002; they also include material from lectures given at MIT during the Fall of 1999 [L12]. I wish to thank Jacques Hurtubise for inviting me to give the Aisenstadt lectures. Hecke algebras arise as endomorphism algebras of representations of groups induced by representations of s...
